Hi, I live near two pre-civil war Iron Ore Furnaces in Western Tennessee. They have a lot of history behind from slave labor to civil war gun boat cannonading. There are also a lot of rednecks here who park at them and drink beer so beer tabs are everywhere in addition to the iron ore left overs of the mid 1800's

I want to take the DFX out there and do some detecting but so far am hitting too many results to even isolate where to dig....there is just that much garbage.

Any one got a suggestion for a newbie on how to tune the DFX to ignore the bottle caps, beer tabs and tin cans that have been dumped on these wonderful detecting sites so I can get to the relics and coins that MUST be there?

I am new to the DFX and detecting in general so give baby step instructions please.
