I found this token. I was wondering if anyone had some info on it?
On the back it reads- ' Our Chet - Q.M. General in Civil War Collector of Port of NY, Vice President, Became President upon death of James Garfield
Favored civil service promotion' " FIRST GENTLEMAN OF THE LAND"

Another groovy old pseudo-coin! Was it Arthur or Cleveland who died in office, pretty much of obesity?

Quartermaster General during the CW? Thanks, Chet, way to keep the home fires burning while our ancestors fought the battles. Shades of Dan Quayle (kept the V.C. and N.V.A. out of Terre Haute).

Hey what a nifty find. You should try to find some history about this token, it appears that it was distributed after his presidency or after his death but in that case it prob would have mentioned that duh!

A great find, we will never find such a thing here in Colorado as Colorado was just a glimmer in the land stealing process at that time.

Enjoy, ColoKid

Don - Try searching Presidential Series tokens. There's a lot of them you have to search through them. Gas stations use to circulate them Cracker Jacks had them there's a lot of them. Your looks like (I'm guessing) from the 40's to 50's by the ground patina. Nice Token though whatever it is.
